About Us
The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter was founded on February 20, 1979 by a group of minority bankers from the San Francisco Bay Area and was incorporated as a charter of the national organization. This new chapter immediately established a network of dedicated professionals to promote community awareness on the various aspects of banking and finance related issues. On June 22, 1982, the chapter became an affiliate of the Urban Financial Services Coalition. As an affiliate of the national organization, the members dedicate themselves to shared goals that promote professional development and personal growth. Our members demonstrate support to our communities through personal involvement, specifically targeting economic improvement.

- Bring together minority professionals in the financial services and other related industries for the mutual exchange of experiences and ideas resulting in career promotion and professional development
- Provide educational and technical assistance for minorities involved in the industry and surrounding communities
- Educate and inform minority youth about the range of employment opportunities available in the financial services and related fields
- Provide advisory assistance to surrounding minority communities
